Founded in 2010 by 3 brothers in Idaho with roots traced back to 1954 when their grandfather, Bud Dame, started a sawmill, these brothers grew up with sawdust in their veins working in the family mill and exploring the Idaho outdoors. This startup provides handcrafted sunglasses from sustainable materials including FSC-certified wood, cotton-based acetate, and repurposed skateboard decks.
Proof is pioneering sustainable eyewear and stands firm on three principles: heritage, sustainability, and giving back. Through their Do Good Program, they partner with organizations on a project-by-project basis to directly benefit people and places closest to them. Globally, they’ve been able to partner with HELP International to travel, volunteer and donate to projects in India, El Salvador, Nepal, the Philippines and this winter, Uganda. They’ve donated over 12% of annual profits to our Do Good Program believing that even a small amount can dramatically shift the trajectory of people's lives. Whether it be in Idaho or India, for maintaining land or providing eye care, they’re global citizens and use their socially conscious business model to do good.
