Water Resources Planner, Mother
Goldy Herbon is a full-time Senior Water Resources Planner in Southern California who advocates for water and climate policies that will make her community more sustainable and resilient to greenhouse gas effects on the environment. She is committed to public service and is passionate about providing safe, clean and affordable water to every human.
Goldy has not always considered herself an outdoorswoman. Growing up in an immigrant household, she was not exposed to the outdoors much and athletic pursuits were not a priority. It wasn’t until recently that she discovered her love of ultra trail running and bouldering. These activities allow Goldy to challenge her body and mind. Overcoming struggle and pain through the training process allows her to find strength and build confidence she has never had. Goldy has completed two ultra marathons and has her sights on completing the Zion 100K in the spring.
Goldy is also a full-time mother to a vivacious and curios fifteen-month-old, Bodhi Wilder. She integrates the lessons learned on the trail and at the crag into Bodhi’s upbringing. Exposing Bodhi to various natural landscapes is of utmost importance in the Herbon household. Bodhi’s parents hope to foster outdoor play and hands on environmental learning to enhance her cognitive and physical ability while providing a creative and social outlet.
