With roots in both the mountains of big sky country and the marshes of the low country, Free Fly has tackled creating the perfect shirt that is as comfortable as it is technical. No kidding -- they’re the softest shirts we’ve ever owned, and a go-to for any outdoor pursuit from fishing, climbing, hiking to simply hanging out.
They found all the technical functions they were looking for in a renewable resource - bamboo. It grows rapidly, can be harvested in 3-5 years, inhibits soil erosion and rarely needs replanting. A lot of companies using bamboo use carbon disulfide - a harsh, harmful chemical, to break down the pith while making yarn; Free Fly is not one of those companies. With great design, comfort, and peace of mind, you also get a fabric more breathable than cotton, that’s anti-odor, provides UV protection, wicks moisture, and is thermal regulating.
Made up of a small crew, they’re still family-owned, and bootstrapped to the core.
